I've brought them domestics & foreign used cars. They have been honest to recommend another expert when necessary. I trust them and have been charged fairly. One time the mechanic bumped a vacuum hose loose during a repair--Gardner believed me about the symptoms, fixed it quickly for free, and accepted responsibility. I drive 30 minutes each way to get their great service and thrilled to get a better deal there than at the chain tire stores.
If you want to be ripped off, Gardner tire is the PLACE TO GO!!! he's dishonest, shady and all the above. This is the SECOND time and LAST time with me. Believe me HE WILL RIP YOU OFF LIKE A BANDIT and how he lies awake at night is beyond my imagination! I have a mechanic i used for years, D and M off High point Road. Best place in TOWN, Danny is honest!!!!! I had my oil changed at Gardner several years ago, and Steve told me something was wrong during the oil change and I took it to Danny (my trustworthy) mechanic and there was NOTHING wrong. this happened numerous times! Steve lied about my husband's truck cost and tore it apart fixed with (without calling us with a quote) and then charged over $200 more than another place and expected my husband to pay it! we made him put the old parts back on and pick our truck up. Today, he's done it again......so i am FINALLY DONE WITH HIS SHOP NOT EVEN FOR OIL CHANGES AND INSPECTIONS! NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!

I have an older car so I have used this shop several times over the past 2 years and each time I have been nothing but pleased with the service I've received.
I waited in line for five minutes as the associate behind the counter discussed how they were going to fix a customer's car. I decided to leave. I didn't even get an acknowledgement or a smile. I would've minimally expected to hear, "I'll be right with you." Too bad. I needed a state inspection and about $2,000 worth of new tires. I always try to give the small business owner a chance before I go to a national chain like Discount Tire. If they keep this up, they'll be out of business.
